First Week at the Berry Patch Cafe

Well, this was the first week of the Berry Patch Cafe's existence. I think it went pretty well. I've enjoyed it, though it can indeed be tiring work. Hopefully my back and shoulder can hold up to it. I think I'll have to get an electric knife because I don't want to risk losing the use of my right arm, which occurred exactly two years ago this week. It's definitely screaming at me and pain killers will stop working soon, so I best listen and take better care of it!

I've received a ton of advice from a couple great women who have run eateries before. I've always enjoyed their company, so I was glad they could stop by and dispense their nuggets of wisdom.

I also received so many donations to start up the cafe, of which I'm very thankful. I wouldn't have been able to open without them. I still have to shuttle things back and forth between home and cafe. I hope to soon be able to keep all my stuff at home.

In addition to the donations, I received wonderful encouragement from someone whom I initially inquired as to the status of the previous cafe. Since it appeared to be closed permanently, she was very encouraging when I wondered aloud about running the cafe. Her enthusiasm was infectious, so I decided to jump in with both feet. Hopefully I'll land on my feet and not something else - lol!
